The problem the patents start from
Vehicle wrapping is almost entirely manual and almost entirely dependent on individual experience. Two installers, the same film, the same car, and you can get two different results. That gap between craft and consistency is what the patents set out to describe.

AI-controlled robotic vehicle surface treatment
An AI control system that scans a vehicle in 3D, chooses the right tool head for the surface in front of it, and carries out multi-step surface treatment — film application, wrapping, coating, tint — while detecting defects and correcting in real time.
It is a description, in patent language, of what a skilled installer actually does: read the surface, pick the tool, work the material, spot the flaw, fix it. Writing that down precisely enough to be granted required understanding the craft first.
This patent claims a system, not a method. It recites multi-step surface treatment operations, but no ordered sequence of steps is claimed.

A system and a method for installing and servicing vehicle lighting — fiber-optic starlight headliners, LED strips, headlight and taillight assemblies — using robots that build a 3D model of the vehicle, plan the work, and place components with tactile feedback.
Lighting work means handling headliner fabric, trim and wiring without marking any of it. The claims are built around controlled force and material integrity, which is the same instinct that makes a good wrap: touch it as little as possible, and only where you mean to.

This one is about running the shop, not touching the car — intake, scheduling, bay utilization, keeping a project from stalling. Much of how SpaceShip Wraps is organized today, as software rather than robots, comes from having thought that problem through.

Not automotive, and included here only for completeness of the portfolio. Its relevance is the underlying discipline: photograph a surface, normalize for lighting, measure what actually changed, and predict honestly with a stated confidence.
